Chapter 15 - The Happy EndingOne year later.

The grand ballroom of the Moretti estate was filled with the soft melodies of a live string quartet, the scent of fresh roses, and the bright, genuine laughter of family and friends.

There were no threats.

No hidden safes.

No syndicate plots.

Just a new beginning.

I stood before the large gilded mirror in the bridal suite, smoothing down the folds of my white lace gown.

The door swung open gently, and Mrs. Gable stepped in, holding a sparkling diamond tiara.

"You look breathtaking, Claire," Mrs. Gable said, her eyes shining with unshed tears as she carefully placed the tiara on my head. "Your mother is already seated downstairs, and she hasn't stopped smiling for an hour."

"Thank you, Mrs. Gable," I whispered, taking a deep, steadying breath. "I still can't believe this is real."

"Some fairy tales take a little blood and fire to get started," she replied with a knowing smile. "Now, your groom is waiting."

Downstairs, the double doors of the ballroom opened wide.

I walked down the grand marble staircase on the arm of my smiling mother, every step echoing softly over the polished floor.

At the end of the aisle stood Benjamin, dressed in a sharp little miniature tuxedo, acting proudly as the ring bearer with a velvet pillow clutched in his small hands.

And standing beside him was Luca.

He wore a tailored black tuxedo, his white shirt crisp and unblemished, his dark eyes fixed entirely on me as I descended the stairs.

There was no shadow in his gaze anymore.

Only a profound, unshakable peace.

When I reached the altar, Luca stepped forward, taking my hand in his warm, strong grip.

"You look incredible," he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

"You clean up pretty well yourself, Mr. Moretti," I teased softly.

He smiled—a real, brilliant smile that reached all the way to his eyes.

"Welcome home, Mrs. Moretti," he murmured, pulling me close as the applause of our loved ones washed over the room.

Benjamin beamed up at us, holding the ring pillow high in the air, his happy laughter ringing clear and bright beneath the chandeliers.

We had survived the dark.

May you like

And together, we had found our happily ever after.

THE END.
