Chapter 15 - The Raven and the Dove (The End)

One year later.

The ancient chapel on the cliffs was filled with white lilies and golden

candlelight.

Our wedding was attended by the true, honorable families of Corsica and France.

Claire stood as my maid of honor in an emerald-green silk dress, smiling with

tears of joy.

Above the stone altar, perched on a specially carved cedar stand, sat Valkyrie.

She wore a delicate silver ring around her talon, watching over the ceremony

with calm, regal authority.

Dominic held my hands before the priest.

His wedding band gleamed alongside mine.

“I promise to honor you,” Dominic spoke clearly, his gray eyes shining with

fierce devotion.

“To protect you and your sister with my last breath. To build a world worthy of

your gentle heart.”

“And I promise to love you,” I answered, smiling through happy tears.

“To be your sanctuary. Your peace. Your home.”

When he kissed me, a cheer erupted from the chapel, echoed by a sharp,

triumphant cry from Valkyrie above.

The storm was long forgotten.

The sea was calm.

The ghosts of the past had finally found their peace.

And together on the high cliffs of Corsica, our flight had only just begun.
