Chapter 14 - The Titanium Key RestoredOn the evening before their wedding, our family gathered in the private dining salon of the villa for an intimate, peaceful celebration.

There were no armed bodyguards checking identification at the gates. No tension in the air.
The long mahogany table was covered with a simple, elegant white linen cloth, illuminated by soft candlelight and decorated with fresh white hydrangeas and fragrant sprigs of rosemary.
The people seated around the table were the true, honorable foundation of our new life:
Vittorio Falcone, sitting tall and proud in his bespoke navy blazer, laughing as he shared stories of the old days with Marcus.
Donna Isabella, looking radiant and healthy in an emerald velvet dress, sitting beside Mateo, laughing as they poured sparkling cider into everyone’s glasses.
Assistant US Attorney Marcus Vance, sitting as an honored guest alongside senior maritime union leaders from the docks.
And at the head of the table sat Christian Vance, looking more relaxed, powerful, and peaceful than he had ever appeared in his life.
At eight o'clock, Christian tapped his wine glass with his silver dessert spoon.
The room fell into an eager, affectionate hush.
Christian stood up, his deep, resonant baritone carrying clearly to every soul in the vaulted room.
“Eight years ago,” Christian began, his dark eyes shining with an emotion so deep it made Teresa’s heart overflow, “this house was governed by men who believed that power was measured by fear, isolation, and iron fists. We believed that an empire was built on ledgers and unbending force.”
He looked directly at Teresa, then down at his grandmother, his smile radiant and full of love.
“Teresa Cruz brought the truth back to this table. She reminded us that an empire that does not protect the people who wash its dishes is an empire built on sand. She taught me that true power is the courage to stand unbroken when everyone else is silent.”
He raised his glass of vintage port high into the air.
“To Donna Teresa! To Donna Isabella! And to the eternal honor of the Vance dynasty!”
Every single person in the room stood to their feet, raising their glasses in a joyous, heartfelt cheer:
“To Donna Teresa! To Don Christian! Viva la famiglia!”

Mateo wiped tears of pure joy from his cheeks, while Falcone clapped his hands with unbridled joy.
Christian pulled Teresa gently to her feet, his arms wrapping around her, his lips meeting hers in a tender, lingering kiss that sealed our family's redemption forever.
