Chapter 11 - THE FINAL SHOWDOWN

Sparks showered across the stone floor as the laptop screen shattered.
Jonathan cursed loudly, lunging toward the desk drawer.
Evander didn't hesitate. He tackled his uncle hard across the room.
Both men crashed into the antique glass panels of the lighthouse wall.
Glass cracked with a terrifying, spiderweb pattern.
Wind howled into the room through the fracture.
Jonathan pulled a hidden stiletto blade from his sleeve.
He slashed wildly toward Evander's throat.
Evander caught his uncle's wrist mid-air with brutal force.
He twisted it until bone snapped with a sickening crunch.
Jonathan screamed in agony, dropping the knife.
Evander pinned him to the floor, his knee pressed firmly into Jonathan's chest.
"It's over," Evander whispered, his voice cold as death.
"The empire belongs to the future, not your ghosts."
Jonathan laughed, coughing up blood onto the stone.
"You think you've won, boy?"
"The syndicate council has already ratified my succession."
"Even if I die here tonight, your empire will tear itself apart by morning."
Daisy stepped over the shattered laptop debris.
She held up a small USB drive she had salvaged from the wreckage.
"He's wrong," Daisy announced clearly.
"Before I broke the screen, I mirrored their entire server database."
"Every ledger, every offshore account, every hidden asset."
"It's all right here in my hand."
Jonathan's eyes widened in sheer horror.
"You... you little meddling housemaid," he spat.
"She is no housemaid, Jonathan," Evander said, standing up slowly.
"She is my partner."
Viktor and two armed guards burst into the lantern room moments later.
They secured Jonathan in heavy titanium zip-ties.
"Take him to the federal intake facility in Brooklyn," Evander ordered.
"Leave him for the prosecutors."
"Let them dismantle what's left of his old guard."
As the guards dragged Jonathan away, he laughed hysterically into the night.
Evander turned toward Daisy.
The tension in his broad shoulders finally began to ease.
"We did it," Daisy breathed, a tired smile breaking across her face.
"We survived."
Evander stepped closer to her, closing the distance between them.
His dark eyes held a warmth she had never seen before.
"You saved my son," Evander said softly.
"You saved my empire."
"And you risked your life without a single hesitation."
"What happens now, Mr. Cole?" Daisy asked quietly.
Evander reached out and gently tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear.
"Now," Evander smiled, "we go home to Leo."
"And the title of housemaid?"
"Retired permanently," Evander replied.
"Unless you want to run the entire estate as its true mistress."
Daisy's heart skipped a beat as she looked into his eyes.

The storm outside finally began to clear, parting for the golden morning sun.
