Chapter 15 - The New Donna of the Morelli Empire

Six months later, the spring sun shone down upon the historic Cathedral of Saint Patrick in Midtown Manhattan.

The bells of the towering cathedral rang out in a joyous, triumphant chorus that echoed across the skyscrapers of New York, signaling the beginning of a new era.

Over four hundred guests filled the ancient stone nave—governors, international ambassadors, syndicate bosses from three continents, community leaders, and every member of the domestic staff from the Westchester estate, who had been given front-row seats of honor.

Walking down the long marble aisle on the proud, steady arm of my father, I wore an exquisite, hand-stitched ivory satin gown with a cathedral lace train that trailed twelve feet behind me.

Pinned above my heart was my mother’s vintage gold cross, and sparkling on my finger was Alessio’s sapphire ring.

At the altar stood Alessio Morelli.

He was breathtakingly handsome in a custom bespoke black tuxedo, his posture radiating the majestic authority of a king, his eyes watching me approach with a look of awe and adoration so intense it made my heart overflow with gratitude.

Standing beside him as his best man was young Leo, looking sharp and grown-up in his miniature tuxedo, standing proud and tall.

Beside him stood Gia, serving as my matron of honor, radiant in an azure silk gown, holding the arm of Dr. Rossi.

When my father placed my hand into Alessio’s, Alessio leaned down, whispering against my ear with a voice thick with reverence:

“You are my queen, Nora. Today, tomorrow, and for all eternity.”

“And you are my home, Alessio,” I whispered back, my eyes shining with tears of joy.

We exchanged our vows before Archbishop Rossi, sealing our sacred union with a kiss that brought the entire four hundred guests to their feet in a thunderous, standing ovation that shook the stained-glass windows of the cathedral.

That evening, the grand wedding reception at the Westchester estate was a celebration unlike anything the underworld had ever witnessed.

There were no whispered plots, no hidden daggers, and no fear.

The Swarovski chandeliers glittered over a ballroom filled with true laughter, glorious music, and the clinking of crystal glasses raised in genuine celebration.

Beneath the central chandelier, Alessio and I shared our first dance as husband and wife to a slow, sweeping Italian waltz played by a full thirty-piece orchestra.

He held me close against his broad chest, his hand resting warm and possessive against the small of my back, spinning me across the polished marble floor where, seven months earlier, my nametag had been torn away.

“Are you happy, Donna Morelli?” Alessio murmured, his lips brushing against my temple.

I looked up into the dark, loving eyes of the man who had torn down an empire of vipers to build a sanctuary of honor for us.

“I have never been happier, Alessio,” I smiled, resting my cheek against his lapel. “The parlor maid is gone. And our house is finally whole.”

Across the ballroom, Leo was dancing with his mother Gia, laughing as Barnaby the puppy barked happily from the terrace doors, while my father toasted with Don Carmine by the fireplace.

We stood together in the brilliant light of our home, knowing that our foundation was built on truth, loyalty, and an unbreakable love that no syndicate, no bullet, and no storm could ever tear apart.

The maid had become the queen, the boy had reclaimed his father’s honor, and the House of Morelli ruled with light and justice forever.

THE END
