Chapter 14 - The Imperial Crown RestoredOn the evening before their wedding, our family gathered in the private dining salon of the chateau for an intimate, peaceful celebration.

There were no armed bodyguards checking identification at the gates. No tension in the air.
The long mahogany table was covered with a simple, elegant white linen cloth, illuminated by soft candlelight and decorated with fresh white hydrangeas and fragrant sprigs of rosemary.
The people seated around the table were the true, honorable foundation of our new life:
Don Marcus Falcone, sitting tall and proud in his bespoke navy blazer, laughing as he shared stories of the old days with Frank.
Bella, sitting beside Dr. Elena Aris, looking sharp and proud in her miniature white lace dress, reviewing architectural blueprints for the new gemstone testing laboratory.
Mrs. Gable, sitting with her grandchildren, enjoying a glass of vintage Barolo.
Assistant Federal Prosecutor Marcus Vance, sitting as an honored guest alongside senior rail union leaders from the mountain lines.
And at the head of the table sat Gabriel Moretti, looking more relaxed, powerful, and peaceful than he had ever appeared in his life.
At eight o'clock, Gabriel tapped his wine glass with his silver dessert spoon.
The room fell into an eager, affectionate hush.
Gabriel stood up, his deep, resonant baritone carrying clearly to every soul in the vaulted room.
“Five years ago,” Gabriel began, his dark eyes shining with an emotion so deep it made Seraphina’s heart overflow, “this house was governed by men who believed that power was measured by fear, isolation, and iron fists. We believed that an empire was built on ledgers and unbending force.”
He looked directly at Seraphina, then down at Bella, and finally at Henri, his smile radiant and full of love.
“Seraphina Moretti brought the truth back to this table. She reminded us that the greatest power on this earth is the courage to stand unbroken, to defend the integrity of honest craft, and to love without fear.”
He raised his glass of vintage port high into the air.
“To Donna Seraphina! To Bella! To Henri! And to the eternal honor of the Moretti dynasty!”
Every single person in the room stood to their feet, raising their glasses in a joyous, heartfelt cheer:
“To Donna Seraphina! To Don Gabriel! Viva la famiglia!”
