Chapter 14 - The Sapphire Set in PlatinumOn the evening before our wedding, our family gathered in the private dining room of the estate for a quiet, intimate celebration.

There were no bodyguards checking identification at the door. No armed sentries watching from the terrace.
The people gathered around the table were the true, honorable foundation of our new life:
Don Carmine Falcone, sitting tall and proud in his bespoke navy blazer, laughing as he shared stories of the old days with Daniel.
My sister Chloe, looking radiant and completely healthy in an emerald velvet dress, laughing as she shared childhood stories of us with Dr. Harris.
Claire Moretti, sitting as an honored guest and executive trustee alongside Assistant US Attorney Marcus Vance.
Mrs. Carter, sitting with her family, enjoying a glass of vintage Barolo.
And at the head of the table sat Luca Moretti, looking more relaxed, powerful, and peaceful than he had ever appeared in his life.
At eight o'clock, Luca tapped his wine glass with his silver dessert spoon.
The room fell into an eager, affectionate hush.
Luca stood up, his deep, resonant baritone carrying clearly to every soul in the vaulted room.
“One month ago,” Luca began, his gray eyes shining with an emotion so deep it made my heart overflow, “this room was filled with men who believed that power was measured by fear, silence, and broken contracts. I was ready to seal an alliance built on deceit, greed, and stolen voting shares.”
He looked directly at me, his smile radiant and full of love.
“Olivia Hayes brought the truth back to this table. She reminded us that an empire that does not protect the people who carry its platters is an empire built on sand. She taught me that true power is the courage to stand unbroken when everyone else is silent.”
He reached into his breast pocket and produced the folded photograph of himself and Claire that I had placed on his desk three weeks earlier.
Beside it, he laid a custom shadowbox crafted from reclaimed oak from the guest room doorframe, with a brass plaque reading:
THE COURAGE THAT SAVED OUR HONOR — OLIVIA HAYES, 2026.
He turned his dark, soulful eyes toward me.
“Your face is healed, Olivia,” Luca murmured, his voice thick with deep emotion. “And tonight, our house is whole.”
He raised his glass of vintage port high into the air.
“To our family. Whole. Safe. And home.”
Every single person in the room stood to their feet, raising their glasses in a joyous, heartfelt cheer:
“To Donna Olivia! To Don Luca! Viva la famiglia!”

Chloe wiped tears of pure joy from her cheeks, while Falcone raised his glass with a booming shout of celebration.
Luca pulled me gently to my feet, his arms wrapping around me, his lips meeting mine in a tender, lingering kiss that sealed our family's redemption forever.
