Chapter 10 - Blood on the Mahogany PierThe air in the grand salon froze solid.

Christian Vance Junior did not blink. But the physical reaction of his body was so blindingly fast, so violently predatory, that none of the armed guards could even track the motion.

In a fraction of a second, Christian lunged forward.

His massive hand clamped around Genevieve Cartier’s throat with iron force, lifting the screaming arms heiress entirely off her expensive designer heels. Genevieve’s face instantly turned a mottled, suffocating purple, and her expensive diamond bracelet shattered into a thousand glittering fragments against the marble floor.

“You laid your hands on my wife,” Christian snarled, his voice carrying the lethal, grinding weight of an avalanche.

Genevieve thrashed wildly in his grip, clawing desperately at his wrists, her eyes bulging with absolute, paralyzing terror as she stared into the face of a man ready to commit murder.

“Barrett!” Christian roared, his baritone shaking the Venetian glass chandeliers overhead.

“Sir!” Barrett stepped forward instantly.

“Drag this arms-dealing parasite out to the offshore terminal pier,” Christian commanded, his voice dripping with venom. “And strip every single flag of the Cartier syndicate from my docks before the tide comes in!”
