Chapter 14 - The Proposal at Dawn

As the first pale golden rays of dawn broke through the arched windows of the grand foyer, Julian took my hand, interlacing his fingers securely with mine. "Come with me, Elena," he whispered, leading me through the French doors out into the sprawling, dew-kissed estate gardens where we had first met under such starkly different circumstances. The white marble fountains trickled gently in the morning air, and the blooming magnolias filled the breeze with a sweet, grounding fragrance. Julian stopped by the edge of the central fountain, turning to face me fully. His expression was solemn, utterly sincere, and stripped of all corporate armor. "When you walked into my estate ten months ago wearing a coarse linen apron, you were just trying to survive," Julian began, his voice steady and resonant. "You didn't know me, you didn't owe my family anything, and yet you risked everything to expose a murder plot and save my brother's life." He reached into his inner jacket pocket and withdrew a small velvet box, opening it to reveal a breathtaking vintage diamond ring that caught the morning light like a captured star. "You speak multiple languages, Elena, but the only language that truly matters to me now is the one we share—truth, loyalty, and an unbreakable bond. I don't want you as my chief corporate translator anymore. I want you as my equal, my partner, and my wife." Tears welled in my eyes, blurring the morning light, but my heart had never been clearer or more certain. I looked into the eyes of the man who ruled the Gulf Coast with an iron fist, yet held my heart with such gentle reverence. "Yes, Julian," I whispered, a radiant smile breaking across my face. "A thousand times, yes."
