Chapter 15 - The End

The sun climbed high into the azure sky above the Vance Maritime Shipyard, casting a brilliant light across the colossal steel hulls of a dozen container ships gliding smoothly out into the open waters of the North Atlantic. From my private office on the top floor of the corporate tower, I stood before the glass windows, watching the endless ebb and flow of global trade bearing my family’s name. Every gantry crane was moving, every ledger was balanced, and every potential threat had been permanently neutralized or driven into quiet exile. Marcus stepped silently into the office, placing a freshly brewed cup of espresso on my desk before standing at attention. “All international shipping lanes are fully operational, boss. The global syndicates have officially acknowledged our maritime dominance.” I took a slow sip of the rich espresso, feeling the familiar warmth settle deep in my chest. The chaos of the past week felt like a distant storm fading over the horizon. It had been a brutal test of strength and absolute resolve, and we had emerged stronger and more untouchable than ever before. I turned away from the window, walking slowly back to my desk. “Good,” I said, my voice carrying absolute authority across the eastern seaboard. “Keep the perimeter secure, Marcus. The empire runs on absolute discipline.” Marcus nodded once, offering a crisp salute before turning on his heel and exiting the office, pulling the heavy mahogany doors shut behind him. I sat down in my leather executive chair, pulling the final balance ledger toward me, and picked up my pen. The storm was over, the debt was paid, and the crown remained firmly where it belonged. The End.
