Chapter 15 - The New Dawn and Happily Ever After: The End

Six months later, the Moretti estate looked entirely different.
The dark, imposing iron gates had been repainted in bright white and gold, and the sprawling gardens were filled with blooming white roses and sunlight. The gloomy shadows that had haunted the hallways for years were completely gone, replaced by the warmth of laughter, healing, and unconditional love.
It was a brilliant spring afternoon, and the grand courtyard was filled with family, close friends, and trusted colleagues gathered for an event that no one in Chicago ever thought they would see.
A wedding.
Standing under a magnificent floral arch in the center of the garden, I wore a stunning, elegant white lace gown that shimmered softly in the sunlight. My mother sat in the front row alongside Teresa, both of them wiping happy tears from their eyes.
And standing at the altar waiting for me was Luca.
He wore a tailored navy tuxedo, his dark hair neatly combed, but it was the raw, undeniable adoration shining in his eyes that made my breath catch as I walked down the stone aisle.
When I finally reached the altar, Luca stepped forward, gently taking my trembling hands in his.
“You look breathtaking, Emily,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
“You don't look so bad yourself, Mr. Moretti,” I teased softly, a bright smile breaking across my face.
“It’s Luca,” he reminded me with that rare, captivating smile that only belonged to me. “Forever.”
The officiant smiled warmly, beginning the ceremony that united our lives into a single, unbreakable bond. When the time came for the vows, Luca looked deep into my eyes, speaking words that echoed softly over the quiet garden.
“From the moment you stood beside me at that banquet table—translating truth, defying fear, and showing me what true strength looks like—you owned my heart. You saved my family, Emily. And I promise to spend every single day of my life making sure you are cherished, protected, and deeply loved.”
“And I promise to stand by your side through every storm and every sunrise,” I replied, my voice steady and filled with absolute certainty.
When the rings were exchanged and the officiant pronounced us husband and wife, Luca pulled me into his arms, dipping me slightly as he pressed his lips to mine.
The applause from the guests erupted around us like thunder, but in that moment, the rest of the world faded away.

We had survived the darkness, burned away the lies, and built an empire of genuine love and redemption from the ashes. As Luca pulled me close against his chest for our first dance under the golden spring sunset, I knew that our story was only just beginning.
THE END.
